Conference Session: Information Technology in the Performing Arts: A Case Study in Two Venues
In the last 24 months, big things have happened at two performing arts venues in the greater DC area. Merriweather Post Pavilion underwent a $19M makeover including construction of a new stagehouse and backstage area, the first major renovation in 50 years. In addition, local promoter It’s My Party built The Anthem, a world-class music hall with a capacity of over 6,000 from scratch. Venues like Merriweather and The Anthem have IT needs like any organization — and some things that are unlike any other. This presentation will take you through our planning, construction, and rollout process for these state-of-the-art venues. Like every good project, some things went as planned, some not so much, and of course, the last minute fixes that saved the day and let the show go on.
